Refugio Sánchez, was born in Altamira, Tamaulipas on May 3, 1921. He began his musical career in 1937, and in 1939 he had his first hit with his song Mi chata. he composed over 200 songs, several of which for Mexican movies. He also participated in many movies, such as La Cucaracha (The Cockroack) withMaría Félix and Pedro Armendariz. He died at the age of the 79, on October 6, 2000..
