| Mexican composer Consuelo Velázquez was born in Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco,
on August 29,
1917. Her theme Bésame mucho is her biggest success having been recorded in several languages
by famous artists
such as Frank Sinatra and the Beatles. For three years, she was a member
of the Chamber of Deputies. She was also president of the Society of Mexican Authors and Composers and vice-president of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers. |
