Armando Manzanero
(1935)

 

One of the most prolific composers in Mexico with more than 400 songs. Armando Manzanero was born in Merida, Yucatan on December 7, 1935. He began to study music when he was eight years old at the Escuela de las Bellas Artes in Merida. In 1957, he moved to Mexico City where he worked as musical promoter for EMMI, and a musical director for CBS International. He obtained his first hit as composer win 1969 with the song No interpreted by Lucho Gatica and that it located him in the first places of popularity.
