This composer was born in Quemado de Güines in the county of Villas in Cuba, on January 13, 1902.
In the 1940s, he conducted the radio show El Bar Melódico de Osvaldo
Farrés, a show that he took to television years laters. His best known bolero
(internationally, at least ) itis Quizás, quizás,
quizás (1947) translated into English as Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps
and interpreted by several singers including Nat King Cole (in 1958) and
Doris Day. |
