This Mexican composer was born in Guadalajara on January 10, 1904. After
dropping his studies in medicine, he devoted himself to the music, and
made his debut in 1930 in the XEW radio station where he played the piano and directed
his own orchestra. He was cofundador of the Society of Authors and Composers of
Music. He wrote three concerts for piano and orchestrated the music
for more than 140 movies, including eight movies from the United States and 3
from France, and he wrote more than 150 songs. He died in Mexico City
on July 4, 1958. |
